Panel: From the Real Estate Investor’s Perspective: How Investors Evaluate Deals and Partner with Lenders
Huy Do, CPA, is the Managing Member of PrideCo Capital Partners (“PrideCo”), the General Partner of PrideCo Private Mortgage Loan Fund (“PPMLF”), and the Managing Member of TLP 1. PrideCo is a family office established in 2005 to serve the needs of a family following the sale of a manufacturing business they operated for more than 30 years. Since 2008, Huy has led new investment initiatives, estate management, and overall operations for PrideCo. Prior to joining PrideCo, he held management roles at Wells Fargo, Arthur Andersen, and Aramark.
In 2010, Huy helped launch PPMLF, a private lending fund designed to generate income for the family office. Over time, the fund expanded to include other like-minded family offices as limited partners. PPMLF primarily lends in Southern California, Colorado, Tennessee, and Arizona, and has maintained a strong performance record, never missing a quarterly distribution and experiencing only 1.1% of loans converting to REOs.
Huy also leads TLP 1, a joint venture between PrideCo and True Legacy Homes that has become one of Southern California’s largest single-family residence (SFR) home buyers, acquiring more than 280 homes over the past 30 months. The venture operates with a unique acquisition model and has developed a proprietary process for plan set design and city approvals.
A graduate of Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Huy also earned his MBA with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Florida (inactive) and holds a Real Estate Broker License. Huy is married with three children, is an avid traveler who has visited 34 countries, enjoys golf, and serves on the Board of Directors for Great Scott Tree Service and several nonprofit organizations.
